BBQ Tempeh Tacos

Wow... it's been forever since I posted something! I got this recipe from a neat little company in Asheville, North Carolina that makes their own tempeh from scratch... Smiling Hara Tempeh. You can find this recipe on their blog! Their tempeh was by far the most delicious tempeh I've ever had. Unfortunately, they don't believe in providing their product to anyone but locals, so the only way to get it is to travel to Asheville!

Even if you can't get fresh made tempeh, the store bought stuff works, too. This recipe is a quick and delicious meal when you don't have all night to spend in the kitchen! Enjoy.

Ingredients:
1 package tempeh, any kind will work fine
1 jar bbq sause (I suggest Stubbs... no high fructose corn syrup and oh so delicious!)
3 Tbsp canola oil
1 Tbsp honey
1/2 onion, chopped
Dash of cumin, cinnamon, cayenne, salt and pepper

tortilla wraps or hard shell tacos
taco toppings, such as:
avocado
tomato
onion
sauteed mushrooms
spinach/lettuce

Directions:
Heat olive oil in a sautee pan on med-high. Add onion and sautee for 2-3 minutes. Crumble tempeh into saute pan and cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Add 3/4 of the bottle of BBQ sauce. Turn heat to low and cover. Cook 10 more minutes, stirring every so often.
